Rivet is a collaborative interior design studio based in Los Angeles and Marin County. Headed by daughter-mother duo Liz Littman and Sherry Williamson, their backgrounds in landscape architecture and architecture bring a deep understanding of design history, green building, construction and fabrication to their work.

Rivet’s role, as client advocate, integrates project goals with an experimental mindset, meticulously curates past objects and fabricates present companions. Their work includes complex renovations, new builds, LEED projects and coordinating large teams, fabricators and installers. Rivet's enthusiasm to find new and creative approaches has led to their projects, lighting designs and furnishings receiving numerous awards and national recognition.

Liz holds a degree in landscape architecture from UC Berkeley, is a LEED Green Associate, and brings over a decade of experience in interior design and production design. Well-versed in green building and laser-focused on design intent, her perspective embodies a rich design language and refined ability to craft intimate narrative landscapes that mirror internal visions across a range of styles.

Sherry holds architecture degrees from WashU and Yale, where her studies in classical and modern architecture grounded her work in design history, proportion, and scale. Working with renowned architects Robert Venturi and Joseph Esherick exposed her to thought-provoking architecture and interiors before establishing her own studio. She’s well versed in materials and fabrication through her explorations of custom lighting, furniture design and art. She approaches the design as a whole, anticipating client needs and coordinating with team members to bring the vision to life.

Rivet Object is a distinctive collection of furnishings, lighting and decorative objects born from their curious conversations with weathered wood, patinaed metal, textured ceramics, illumination and raw stones create Rivet’s modern objects of wonder.

I have had the great pleasure of working with Sherry Williamson on two houses. I was very impressed with Sherry’s ability to move back and forth between styles and locations. Designing houses is hard work but Sherry made it interesting, fun and creatively satisfying. Her architectural training and background were essential to the outcome of both projects. It always amazed me that she could look at something in situ, see it another way and sketch it right on the spot. As a result we were able to make decisions quickly and efficiently. The nuts and bolts of her operation went smoothly and she handled everything with grace and ease. Nothing was more fun than Sherry coming by with a bag full of amazing fabrics for sofa’s and chairs. Her lighting design work was also inspired. Sherry is reliable, talented and well organized. I would happily work with her again.” - CLIENT
